yep, for the first time in 14 years it's supposed to snow here starting this afternoon! inland areas are looking at 3-4", along the coast we should have ONE INCH! everyone is excited and can't talk about anything else which is what we tend to do around here anyway. but i digress...

what a great way to end the week! it's been an interesting one, that's for sure.
1624 update:
so, i'm back from an all day meeting (which is another story because supernana was sending me text messages from her meeting on the west coast! too funny!). picked up miss daisy on the way home from her daughter's house AND we're settling in for the evening.
so far, all we've had is rain. but, it is cold and grey and everyone is on HIGH ALERT for snow! i'm ready, camera is ready, wine is ready...but i'm starting to think vodka and snow might be my new favorite beverage...

2019 update:
still no snow!
i'm dead tired. it's raining. the opening ceremonies for the 2010 winter olympics are on and i can't keep my eyes open! have no fear, i have all the exterior lights on, the camera is ready

ReplyDeleteTransport to a stand still along with time. As walking every where becomes a must. (as im a coward to drive in. .or rather the insurance is a pain if an accident of slidding into a car. . .they will find some way of getting out of paying).
People seem more friendlier. . Smiley and chatty. Even though we are all dressed like Mitchelen men wrapped up with every thick item we could find to keep warm. All so we can go out n' play and be that kid once more.
On wondering down to my local park, I was amazed how so many famillies had the same idea. Snow men being built, snow ball fights, snow angeling of the littleones, sledging by the older ones. . .no one moaning, whinging or whining. Just laughing and gigilling.
The park is only ever used by youths. Is only a wee small one but the snow created an image of being in Narnia. Boy did it make my mind wonder off far and wide with it. . .
So huni. . .your time to enjoy and share with us. . Mwah xxx
p.s then we can trade on the down side of that follows. . .lol :-p

ReplyDeleteYou need to come visit the Land of 10,000 Lakes. We have had 64 inches of snow this winter. I will send a photo.
ReplyDeleteMake a wee little snowman and put him in your freezer (he'll melt in the fridge) and then you can take him out and watch him melt in July!

ReplyDeleteIt snowed in my part of Texas a few years ago--a rare once every hundred years or so event. And it happened on Xmas day, too! It was hilarious and fun watching kids and adults who've never seen snow before run outside and play.
It all melted and evaporated the next day.

ReplyDeleteI've seen enough snow during the past to weekends to last the rest of winter.
Still, there is something enchanting about snowfall. I admit that I've wistfully looked out my window at the blanket that covers my yard. Thoughts which take me back to youthful childhood days in Chicago.
Vodka and snow! I've never tried that one. Guess I'll have to take your word for it and look for the picture updates.
