What a day
"An early-morning emergency alert mistakenly warning of an incoming ballistic missile attack was dispatched to cellphones across Hawaii on Saturday, setting off widespread panic in a state that was already on edge because of escalating tensions between the United States and North Korea." New York Times
That's the first paragraph of NYT article earlier today. The tension that is now part of our national psyche has become our new normal. For the first time since the Marmalade Mugabe took office, I was happy he was on the golf course! On twitter, someone posted what if the warning had been posted on Fox & Friends while he was watching! It is my worst nightmare and I know I am not alone.
I don't even know how to react anymore. The words that are used to denigrate, demonize, defame, people of color and nations are beyond vulgar. Sweet Mary Sunshine, I no longer have the words to express how sad and disappointed I am in the state of our country.
This is no longer a partisan issue for me. This is about who we are as a people, as a country, and how those we have elected to represent us will behave in the face of the slow dismantling of our democracy. I want to have hope. I want to believe that we will rise above this and realize that democracy is a fragile thing and we must remain vigilant/woke/aware in its defense and keep working towards our more perfect union.

I'm not kidding around!
Friends, I just saw that there was an anonymous comment that had a video link attached. I did not open it and I hope none of you did either. Thanks to all the hackers and other malcontents using innocent looking links to spread their malware, I deleted the comment rather than risk the chance of my blog being used to spread their possible spyware/malware.

Day 2 or as the MITM said...
enough of this shit!
The snow isn't expected to melt for a day or maybe more because the daytime temps aren't going above 30F during the day and dropping into the 20s and below at night! There's black ice on all of the roads with bridges being closed because of it. There is only one 2 lane road in and out of this area, and it crosses over a bridge that is also in a shaded area! Yesterday, a tree had fallen across the road and sort of locked us all in! That is if anyone wanted to even try to leave!

I know that to a LOT of you this snow event is nothing, but here in SAV it is a VERY, VERY, VERY BIG DEAL!! In fact, this is only the second time snow has fallen in the 20 years that I've lived here! The wild thing for all of us is that it's STICKING!!
