and now,
finally, i am responding. forgive my laxity in manners and deportment, darlings, i can only say,
it has been a hellva weekBlogger xl said...
Good. You nailed the bastard!
Earlier this week I was making online hotel and transportation reservations for my upcoming Oz trip. Citi stopped two of the transactions and called me to verify usage. They apologized; but I thanked them for watching things. The transactions were re-submitted and everyone was happy.
i wish we had nailed him, sugar, but all that has happened is the bleeding has stopped. we have no idea if there will be any capture or prosecution. xoxo

Oh, thank goodness, B of A should have that money back in your account within 24 hours, I believe. A lot of people think they're crap, but for things like that they're pretty good.
And that is too funny you mention the "fuck you in the drive-thru," I was just using that today! Now if I could only get the Lottery numbers...
You just relax; you need it!
they are indeed very good about the alerts! movies are my best source of retort these days, sugar! take care, ok? xoxoxo Blogger Boxer said...
XL stole my word ... BASTARDS!! Sitting by the fire and relaxing is the best medicine.
Sorry.
xoxo.
and it's the very best word possible, sugar! xoxoxo

Yikes! There's been a run of that happening to people I know as well. Hasn't happened to me yet, but I never have any money in my account, so not sure if anyone could steal a negative number! :-\
Glad the two of you are relaxing and enjoying some movies. And that the B of A will get your money back into your account. xoxo
it's been an awful experience that's for sure! and i have to agree that i'm glad it was that account that was hit and not the business! xoxoxoxBlogger Jimmy Bastard said...
There's always a bright side to the darker side hen... keep smiling.
y'all know how i am, sugar! i do try to keep my eye on the prize, sugar! xoxoxo

aaaargh.... they were able to stop it, but will they prosecute? i've seen too many cases where they just let the crook go, because it costs too much to pursue it. so frustrating. glad it wasn't worse...
so far, that's the case, sugar, but as i said earlier, who knows if the perp will be caught! xoxox
Blogger eroswings said...
I'm so glad that they caught the stealing mofo! And I'm glad that you have a bank that works for you!
Enjoy the day relaxing and laughing at the stupid idiot who tried to steal from you but got caught! They'll get what's coming to them!
it's epidemic, sugar! but, y'all are right, b of a did work for us and we're grateful! xoxox

It's a hateful crime but I'm so glad that BofA notified you early on. If that happens here, we only find out when we literally check our accounts & in a recent incident of the exact same experience, the bank 'official' told the customer "we are all victims of crime"! Bloody nerve!
it's the least they can do, sugar! we've been with them longer than i can or want to think about! i can't imagine hearing a bank official trying to use that line here! xoxox
Blogger St Jude said...
It is so rife these days. Hope they take the time to prosecute.
absolutely! and sadly, will probably only get worse! xoxox

i hope so, sugar, i hope so! xoxox

Did this person at least buy interesting things?
no idea, darlin! what the bank did tell us was that it was all done online! they did hit an audio/video outlet! xoxox

Theft is just wrong. P.E.R.I.O.D.
And a nuisance. You are the 2nd person I know who has had this happen in a week.
The trailer for Fados is intriguing. I know what I will be looking for.
amen, sister! xoxoxo glad y'all enjoyed that trailer. do see his films if possible! a visual treat for sure! xoxoxox

One more thing...
Buy yourself a paper shredder and shred the bejaysus out of all your credit card receipts before you trash them.
In my part of the world, people go through your garbage looking for personal I.D.
Anyway, the rainy season has begun here so tonight it's all about wine, a hearty beef stew and a night by the fireplace.
that's what we can't figure out, darlin! we shred everything. even the bank hasn't a clue as to how the card number was stolen! xoxoxBlogger Have the T-shirt said...
You have realized my greatest fear. Well, one of them at least.
Good idea, the wine and fireplace, etc.
i hope it never happens again, sugar, to anyone! xoxoxoxBlogger white rabbit said...
I once had a chequebook intercepted in the post and £1,900 removed from my account.
It was all of three minutes between the statement hitting my doormat and me being on the phone to the bank so I got the money back but the perps were never caught.
When it's you it happens to you just want to bludgeon whoever it was to death with a blunt instrument. Okay, then you calm down...
WOW! that's more than scary, sugar! glad y'all got it back! and yes, the urge to put a massive hurt on someone was fierce! xoxoxo

Savannah,
Glad you were able to have that low life nabbed. I hate when crap like this happens, particularly to a friend.
A sandwich and a glass of wine sounds most relaxing. You and the MITM enjoy the movies.
P.S., Yes, I grew up watching episodes of Flash Gordon, Rin Tin Tin and Commander Cody. Serials always got me wondering what's next.

i can only hope the scumbag(s) will be napped, hon, but i really don't hold much hope out! thanls for the kindness! xoxoxo

The only thing I can say is- at least you were robbed by an honest bank robber.
The other bank robbers take your tax money, pension money gamble with it, charge you to take care of - the rest - what you have left, gamble with that, and in the end you'll be left on the street.
the good thief versus the bad thief sort of scenario, sugar? ;~D xoxoxBlogger Charlie said...
How these crooks get our number is beyond me but the banks, for all their badness, are pretty good at detecting card theft.
The merchants who took the card number won't be so happy, though: the purchase amount will be charged back to them.
that might be the only way for the thief to be caught, darlin! i live in hope! xoxoxox

What a shock - sorry this has happened but glad you've stopped it.
BASTARDS!!!
i KNOW! the whole incident coming so soon after our lovely holiday really set us back emotionally. in the grand scheme of things it is small, i know, but coupled with other surprises, we have been reeling and not from drink! xoxoxoxthank all y'all for the continued support and good thoughts. it truly has been a rough week around here and there are NO signs that particular tide is turning, so i'm not sure when things will be back to normal. i'm making no promises, but mail should go out this week!
xoxoxox from both of us!
