So I said I was going to write a positive post...

 I tried, but given the world today, that ain't happening.

It's not THE world, just my personal everything-around-ME world. The MITM has a knee issue plaguing him, so he has to put an ointment on it 4x a day that takes 10 minutes to dry after application, so he's not a happy camper. I pinched my finger and it's bruised and hurts. Not to mention extremely ugly-looking. (I installed Grammarly on my MAC to catch typos, but it has decided that it must insert hyphens willy-nilly and I am wondering why.) Two real first-world problems (or 3 if you count Grammarly's intrusion) I know, but the only problems I'm going to write about today. 

But, there is some good news, I'm feeling fine. I no longer sound like a train wreck if I cough. In fact, I am really rather boring today. Maybe that's why at 15:49, I'm still in pj's wearing the MITM's old heavy cotton turtleneck sweater and my slippers!

 Paxlovid for  5 days.

Isolation for 5 days.

So WTF? Positive PCR results today from the test I took yesterday!!

Waiting to hear from my primary physician about what to do next.

Well this ain't right!

 I just tested positive for COVID! 

AGAIN!

I thought it was just a cold and bad cough, but this BGM suggested taking a COVID test. She was right. I'll start Paxlovid today, but isolation has already begun. Everyone at the birthday/NYE party has been contacted and will test, too. I have to admit that isolation does have its perks, and fortunately for me I've had all my boosters and an RSV vaccine, so I don't anticipate any disasters (fingers crossed). This will be my second infection, and I suspect that it occurred at the DMV! This is a reminder that the virus is still lurking and masks need to be worn in crowded spaces. I let my guard down even after hearing that there is a rise in cases in LA County! So pay attention to your local health department warnings, friends!

I'm hoping that this is the worst thing that will happen around here in 2024!

today is my birthday, Pt 2

 The pre-party photo for my birthday and super nana's annual New Year's Eve party!

This year's theme for my birthday party is "Gardener's World" which just happens to be one of my favorite shows! 

The cake was a delicious chocolate with chocolate filling delight! The Dancing Lady made cookies and also brought grapes for the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes at midnight for good luck in the new year!  Dinner was lasagna, Caesar salad, and garlic toast. Drinks included Coquitos, red and/or white wine, Martinis, and/or Bourbon. Champagne was the drink of choice at midnight! BGM and BKC had a variety of carbonated drinks, so everyone had something to drink! Pictures are coming in from various attendees, but I had to share the great cake with all y'all!
