Well, that first song was written for the musical "Girl Crazy" and it's been made into a movie a few times, but never with Lilli Palmer. Hmmm.

Savannah I've always been a fan of Lilli Palmer (has son with Rex Harrison) but don't remember her singing. There is a Lillie Palmer who sings apparently - would that be her?

pat...i found the movie (see above) and the conceit of the movie (based on the plot) is people sort of hum, sing, use the tune as a part of their dialogue. sadly, the movie is not available on dvd! xoxox

ReplyDeleteJoel Gray was just as over-the-top on Broadway as he was in the movie. I don't think anyone else could have played the part.
