BUT, for those of you who read yesterday's post, the MITM landed safely in deepestdarkestafrica AFTER having been delayed hours in CDG for technical verification of the aircraft... okay, whatever THAT means.

but, all that aside, he's there and he's ok, so i'm good.

saturday in the park...or why is that song now an earworm in my head

07:30  killing time while the MITM is making sure everything is updated on his MAC.


08:00  normally on departure day we're taking care of last minute details, but today because the flight is later in the afternoon the pace is a tiny bit slower.

09:40  shirts ironed, checked bag packed, carry-on in process of being packed. pretty good, right? last load of laundry in the dryer and then, someone (probably me) will iron his favorite traveling shirt (long sleeve cotton Ralph Lauren, blue stripe) and will be ready to go.

09:50  Skype has some really funny new emojis just in case you didn't know

ok, this is going nowhere now because he's talking to The Doc via skype and i need more coffee. as The Doc just told the MITM, enjoy america while you can because deepestdarkestafrica is waiting!

17:08  since 09:50, he's had a  business call that brought 2 people in 2 different states and 1 person in deepestdarkestafrica very loudly to my dining room table; a Facetime call with captain chaos and BBC (which was very funny); watched 3 episodes of Misomer Murders; had lunch; showered, shaved, and dressed for his 21 hours travels (flight and layovers in 2 airports). the MITM is now sitting in the airport lounge having a Scotch while he waits for his boarding call.  

he asked me to thank you all for the good wishes for his safe flight and return! 

i'm going to do what i usually do when he leaves...

i'm going to sleep.

How did that happen?

A lot of things have happened here since I posted about BGM's third birthday party, but I won't bore you with the details. OK, I would, if I could, but I can't...but here's what I can tell you.

The MITM is getting ready to leave again. He'll be back in deepestdarkestafrica, but home again before either turkey day or my birthday. 

Who knows right now. 

He certainly doesn't. 

I've been doing what I always do which is as little as possible, but doing whatever needs to be done to make life movethefuckalong. 

So there you go. 

I here, just not as focused as before, but still around.

this is what is supposed to happen when you're three

 when you're 3, you're supposed to be celebrating your birthday! the LEGO theme birthday party that turns into a surprise visit from Spiderman because that's really what you wanted (at the last minute) happens because that's what happens when you're 3. it's supposed to be a day spent with cousins, aunties, uncles, grandma and grandpas, friends, neighbors, babies, and everyone and anyone who likes a party!

summertime is supposed to be about playing with your cousin and having Du aka grandpa aka the MITM push you around in a little car in the backyard! when you're 3, you go to a cowboy themed weddings with Baka aka grandpa aka Big J! it's all about being loved, cared for and safe.

i thought i had some video from the party, but it seems i don't! BUT, i know Mr Matrix has some!
