but it was a good lost.
the MITM came home after being away for along time.

here's a quick rundown of what's gone on since i last wrote.
march 8th was our 46th wedding anniversary! we made plans to go out, actually, we made quite a few different plans, but at the last moment decided that we'd celebrate the same way we celebrated our wedding all those many years ago...at home! (it was a 2 bedroom apartment then)
that day, after our friends and family had left, he went to work (at the post office) and i hung out at the head shop/boutique were i worked drinking champagne with my friends! ours was a really low-key wedding. his mom and my mom called their friends and said that we were getting married on the 8th (which was about 2 weeks after we told the ladies), so come if you can. that was it, no printed invitations, no big white dress, no big bouquet, and no big reception, just friends and family, and 2 witnesses. the one concession was that we married in a church. the "reception" was at our apartment and was a potluck affair!
it was fun then and fun last weekend!
the MITM and i spent our day cooking and toasting and having a great time. the krewe called at various times during the day to wish us well. we didn't really take a lot of photos which was pretty much happened on our wedding day!
then, it was the 12th.
42 years ago, The Doc was born. we got to chat with him via facetime (he's in deepestdarkestafrica), but this time there was no maz to share! he'll get his birthday present when he and The Dancing Lady are in NYC later.
the 12th also marked the 1 year passing of Big Shelly. he was and will always be the best friend to both of us.
life and death on the same day, but on the 12th we raised our glasses in celebration of both men.
Sheldon aka Big Shelly would have appreciated that.
The Doc? he raised his glass, as well.
and now, we're caught up.
it's been crazy time down here in savannah because st patrick's day is tuesday, march 17th, so the party started on saturday.
we've been on the plantation and have absolutely no plans to go downtown! if i'm going to spill beer on myself, i'd rather do it at home. it's crazytown down there and i'd rather watch the parade from the comfort of my living room, tyvm! (google St. Patrick's Day Savannah 2015 and you'll probably find a few pics/live cams to check out the action)
