thank you for all the kind words of support and concern for our family.
thank you for joining is in celebrating mr. moose on the anniversary of his birth.
thank you for continuing to read and share your own stories/comments.

for all of these things i am grateful.
we have taken much comfort in knowing that so many people really do care.
there are still a few hurdles to cross before we know everything has settled into some sort of normalcy. but for now, we'll just keep on truckin!

happy birthday, mr. moose!
today is his birthday! drop by, if y'all can and wish him a grand day!
UPDATE:
soooooo, unlike years long, long, long past when we used to (OK, i used to) call the coconut krewe early in the morning or as close to the time they were born (it was hell when they were away at school - for them, not me) we called #3 son around 9AM west coast time to wish him a happy birthday! he was doing his favorite thing: sitting in a cafe having coffee and writing! it seems he'll be celebrating his birthday as he can for the rest of the week until work clears up! which only proves my point: you can never over celebrate your birthday!

this is what she remembers
miss daisy moved out today.
~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday, our pal, Boxer's Dad passed away. She has posted her tribute and her prayer for her Dad. We stand with our friend today and always. I quote her label: I will back in August. He died as he lived. Brave and strong. I am OK.
May he rest in Peace.
Posted by at 12:00 PDTso there it is according to blogger yesterday...and yeah, i went and found this answer. no one contacted me. and yes, it may be a free service, but does that mean courtesy and customer satisfaction isn't required or even offered?
houston, we have a problem
if comments are disappearing from your blog, go here. someone named gatsby has started a spreadsheet to document the problem. i've left this info with eryl, scarlet, mr. pirate and dave. pass it along to anyone else you know having the problem. oh yeah, and tick the email followup comment box, so you know if comments are being answered.
UPDATE: it's happening here, too, my darlings! i'm off to post on gatsby's spreadsheet, too!
more info: so it seems we can see our own comments on our blogs, but nothing else. eryl & scarlet are trying to figure out how to post THAT issue on the spreadsheet. i left a comment over at UB's and it disappeared, so i left 2 more. who knows what's next...
now if i could only remember my password for my wordpress blog... *sigh*
even more info: one of the 2 comments i just left at UB's has disappeared. and now they're both gone. as are the comments i left at boxer's and roses...i see we aren't alone, the blogger Z is also having the disappearing comment situation. kim ayres has noticed disappearing comments...wtf, blogger? are we all that expendable to you?
interesting: one comment at UB's has returned. leah is having the same disappearing comment problem, so she's just posting the comments in the body of her blog and answering there! she's such an inventive little minx!
and then there was more: comments are starting to reappear, but not in the order they were left. the comments i left here on my own blog haven't returned. we've all started using email notification on blogs were we've left comments. almost 200 bloggers have left info on the help forum. who knows how many filled out the earlier spreadsheet. we'll see what comes next...
next: comments are starting to reappear here and i think on other blogs, also. i wonder how a product that had so few problems went to hell in a hand-basket so easily?
what have we learned today: there were no weapons of mass destruction. (wtf, is she talking about, right?) exactly, my point, we learned absolutely nothing about why comments were disappearing. well, i didn't. did anyone receive an email about what happened and why? i shouldn't have to go and LOOK for an answer. one should be sent to me and to every blogger who cooperated and let blogger know about yet another massive cluster fuck on blogger's part! now, i could go to wordpress, but i'll tell you whut, i'll just keep that as a backup. i'm staying with blogger and i'm going to make it my personal goal to stick to them like white on rice and make sure they do the right thing!
i am an infomaniac bitch!
friday night special
the recipe for shrimp & saffron risotto, courtesy of emeril lagasse and the MITM! (by the way, there's a typo in the recipe. it's 30 minutes, not 3 minutes for the actual cooking of the risotto.)
so yeah, a bad day was made so much better by good food and really good friends. we are very fortunate and totally appreciate the celestial alignment that brought everything together for us. for every bit of bad news that i know is going to be thrown on the plantation lawn, i firmly believe that everything will work out for all of us. it will not be easy i know, but, we'll hold fast to the rope that connects us and give thanks for the mercies visited upon us.
and now the food:
and yes, it was delicious!
food news or there's a reason it's called comfort food
this was tuesday's supper. thank goodness for the food network.
i've included the recipe the MITM used for shrimp and sausage jambalaya. he used the frozen chicken stock i made from scratch last week, used virginia smoked ham, smoked turkey sausage and added mussels,. it was delicious!
if you're going to be in a locked down situation, having good food to eat is a necessity. not to sound too tragic (i've told y'all about southern gothic living already) but, we are watching the slow degeneration of a once lovely woman and i am no longer her favorite. i accept that it isn't personal, it's the disease talking, so i can deal with it. sort of.... so, change is underway. everyone understands what must happen, but it doesn't make the immediate any easier. we cook, share a glass of wine and for a few moments it's all ok.
