work, work, work....party time is over

and it's back to work for the MITM. at least, he's stateside, so i can't complain, but he isn't at home. so why didn't you go along, savannah you might be asking. easy, he had to take his chief mechanic along, it's business, not personal. so there it is. when he returns, we're going up to atl for a wedding. his mom is going with us and we'll see mr. moose and his dear lady there, too! a good weekend celebrating faith in the future and love.

received a call last night from a woman i know. she'd been hospitalized for 5 days and then shortly after her release, her mother died unexpectedly. she called me because, as she said, she needed the company of friends and i was the first person she thought of. she's coming over tonight after work. so what's my point? i've been so wrapped up in my own drama, i've neglected friendships. my professional circle is wide, but my comfort zone friends few, but close to the heart. it's that space between the two that's filled with people who count me as something other/value me differently that i am wondering about now. transitions temporary or permanent...who knows? everything ultimately goes back to high school doesn't it? *humming i'm in with in crowd...*


no, sometimes, we just are what we need to be in the moment and move along.

back to work. . .

for a change, monday isn't so bad!

yes, darlings, the MITM finally arrived home! no thanks to the airlines that shall remain anonymous (airfrance & delta) that screwed up his ticket from atlanta to savannah. bottomline, he ended up renting a car at atl and driving the FOUR (4) hours home! yep, after flying/waiting for almost 24 hours, he drove home! so instead of arriving here at 9.30, he finally arrived at out doorstep around 1.30ish saturday morning!

it's been a crazy weekend, but he's finally home!

dammit, dammit, dammit....or never ever trust the airline booking agents in a foreign country!

he just called. i thought it was to say, i'm on the plane.

his bags will arrive at 21.40hrs.
he won't.





you know, i should have driven the 4 hours up to atlanta and picked him up there! we could have just spent the night and driven home on saturday.



ok, remind me next time - no posting about the last leg of the journey until the MITM is actually on the plane!

travel update

according to the airline that flies in and out of deepest, darkest, hottest africa, the MITM's flight landed at cdg at 5.50am local time...so, he'll probably call soon. i can't sleep anyway...

he's getting ready to board his plane now and with my favorite kind of airport gifts:
"a very fine bottle of dupeyron armangac 1959, a fine bottle of camus cognac 1974, two tins of foie gras de strasbourg (goose with truffles), two tins of foie gras de canard..."

and for the first time in almost 6 months, he said, "i'll see you later, babe!" and he really will!

what a day this is going to be because y'all know i hate waiting!

done with all the last minute errands, had some lunch...and now, i'm watching this and taking notes. . .

plane landed (gotta love mac widgets) so he's in atlanta! scheduled to depart atl for sav at 20.30hrs...i really wish he'd put his stateside sim card in his phone and call...(yes, i already dialed him - just voicemail)

arrgggggggghhhhhh

maybe i'll do my hair...change my clothes...tile the bathroom!

i really, really, really hate waiting.

well ok, darlings, the MITM is at his boarding gate, clear weather, no storms in atlanta or here so, he should be home around 21.30hrs... thank you all for spending this day with me! your comments and positive vibes have been a saving grace during this ongoing saga.

home again, home again, clickedy click. . .

that's right, darlings! he boards his flight out of deepest, darkest, hottest africa at 2300 hrs tonight. 6 hours to cdg, a long, long layover, then 9 hours to the states. after arrival in atlanta everything depends on weather. yep, his 45 minute flight down here could be delayed for hours if it's storming because we don't just get rain down here, it's wind, lightening, hail, damn near the kitchen sink fallin from the sky..and that can happen if it's a hurricane (not that any are predicted, knock on wood! but, after all this time, i am planning on staying positive and going on the assumption that he will make his connection in atl and arrive home at 2100hrs on friday, almost 24 hours after leaving the heart of africa!

so, do me one more favor, please...keep thinking good thoughts!

i'll probably be back later on today...y'all know how manic i get when he's flying! (remind me again how safe it is, dr. maroon!)

it's almost a certainty.

tomorrow we'll know.

the MITM is not coming home on thursday.

yet another day after post

another party here last night! i'm going to need a vacation to recover from this vacation! no fireworks, just family gathering to say goodbye before the jacksonville people move up the coast. we do know how to put a party together quickly around here!

tonight we're taking the ghost tour! thanks, TC for that suggestion! the girls are really excited...and me? the idea of riding in a hearse while upright is, indeed, comforting, and yet still a tad too close . . . ;-)

i need more coffee.

i need more sleep.

i need a vacation.

almost 3pm...severe thunderstorm warning, crazy, mad lightening, thunder, massive rain storm and then...no power. the girl were slightly concerned, but hey, we have leftover food, flashlights, and beverages! ;-)
