*sigh*

today is the 2nd of june.

there's no denying it,

the MITM is leaving soon.

i

am

in

denial.

i hate the last few days before he leaves.

sometimes, i think it would be easier if we woke up one morning and he said, ok, i need a ride to the airport. cut and dry. no anticipation, no anxiety, you know, no long goodbyes. *sigh* but that isn't the way it works, i know and this is nothing new. i still wish things were different and his work didn't take him so far away for so long. the coconut krewe says we're really cool people, but we're sooooo much cooler when we're together. i think they're right.

i'll be back.
maybe later.
maybe tomorrow.

ok, so it was later...
a bit of a cry and a chat, i'm better. (ok, not really, but wtf? yanno?)
anyway, this is going on right here, the building of a mandala at the jepson center which is the contemporary art museum right here in my little town! so, before the end of the week, we'll go down and see the progress. on sunday, i'll go down to watch it be blown away and scattered to the wind.

nothing lasts forever, unless it's remembered.

  1. Dear Savannah I know how you are feeling and sending you a big warm hug. One of the good things about growing old is you can be together most of the time. Until the last goodbye that is. The ones you love are always in your heart. Give him a big kiss and plan what you are going to do when he gets back. Don't waste the days.xox

  3. Oh Savannah! I am sorry.

But console yourself momentarily with the extraordinary accomplishment of your kids thinking you are cool!

  7. Oh, that's too bad. I'm sure you have a million things you'd like to say and do with him before he leaves. Well, count on picking up with them when he returns. By the way, I'll be around Savannah from the 16 - the 18th. Then I don't know what I'm doing or where I'll be but my flight leaves Savannah on the 29. So yeah, let's get together.

  8. Nothin lasts forever unless it is remembered. Like an afternoon, spent exploring, or a dear friend, whom i strive to remember daily. She said she would soon be forgotten, and mean to prove her wrong.

  13. Awww...hope you're feeling better. Perhaps you could write him letters, to put your thoughts into words, and he'll have something physical to remind him of who's waiting for him back home.

  14. For how long will he be gone? The anticipation of something unwanted is never fun.
