6.4 earthquake in Ridgecrest, California!
Ridgecrest is 2 hrs and change away from Burbank (were we are right now) which is how we measure distance here by time, not actual mileage (140 miles), so we felt it as a rolling motion. We were here during the Northridge quake which was a 6.7 and we sure as hell felt that one INTENSELY. The epicenter was in a remote area, but still populated. There has been damage there, but as of now no reported deaths or injuries.
There have been and will continue to be aftershocks across the area. Y'all might see or hear about the earthquake via the news, but know that the MITM, the Krewe, and I are OK!

ReplyDeleteLivin inLaguna the ant would start to come in the house and then that evening or next day earthquake. We got so use to them we didn't even take any precautions.
That is bad bad bad. I do not miss them at all along with the wildfires (my house burned down) but we get bad wildfires here also.

It was all over the news up here, and there was a 6.2 magnitude quake just off Vancouver Island yesterday. The West Coast is on the move. Hopefully there won't be any more anytime soon! Glad you are safe. Please stay that way. xoxoxo

ReplyDeletejust over month later, and here in west central Ohio, we are still digging out from the barrage of tornadoes on Memorial Day. This is a long term recovery effort - thousands still trying to find housing. Glad you are ok, and glad that this one wasn't worse. Cannot begin to imagine what "the big one" would look like... <3

Good to know all is fine with your family. My wife has a brother living in that general area and he is fine too.
ReplyDeleteGiven two big shakes and no extensive damages or injuries is good news. It shows that paying attention and learning more about the earth is a benefit for everyone.
